
Jay Obmerga grew up in Northern California where he played for the San Jose Junior Sharks Program. At 15 he left home to play hockey for the Notre Dame Hounds in Saskatchewan, Canada. Jay lived in Canada for the next 7 years to play his Youth, Junior and College career for various Canadian teams, including Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. In 2001 Jay came back to the United States to play for Utah State University. Currently he has been a private power skating and skills coach for the last decade helping aspiring hockey players get to the next level. Jay is excited to work with the Wasatch Renegades and help the organization in player development as Utah's only Tier 1 AAA Program.

Since 1994 Jay has been involved in coaching skills and hockey training camps all over the United States and Canada.
